I think we started meeting at the Port Madison Yacht Club for the October raft-up back in 2007. It's become a great Fall Puget Sound Cruising Club tradition. When we were younger healthier sailors, we did the trip in wind, rain and fog. This year we took the big boat, the ferry, and approaching Winslow I got a shot of the distinctive house with flag that was THE target when sailing out of Elliot Bay years ago. The sun came out briefly, while driving of course. Once at the clubhouse it was great to see everyone. No surprise Sara and Dave were there already and Chris and Chris. Scott and Donna on Celestial their Tripp 45 were anchored already. Steve and Elsie arrived just before us and it was good to see Dick and Dawn from Morning Star. Soon we had a good crowd, two tables of pumpkins being carved, and potluck dishes covering the counters. Dawn and Elsie were the most serious pumpkin carvers. Resourceful Dave used the propane grill to start a log fire and then found a few matches. Lars used a split of wood to light pumpkin candles-yeah! Odin brought the big camera, and Tor and Jess brought their new dock neighbors Jess and Jared. I think Mary Alice, an experienced cruiser, CCA and PMYC member, friends with Chris and Chris, may have been helpful getting us access to the club house this year - thanks! It was almsot dark when Jim and crew, Diane and Karum arrived on s/v Apropos, the big Hans Christian. Scott raced off in his dinghy to bring them in, and Karum made a big hot Thai curry shrimp soup. I missed the brownies, but Scott was passing out candy corn till the end of the evening. What a good friendly, delightful potluck, a fine PSCC tradition! Thanks all!
